We believe every ship operator deserves access to enterprise-grade fleet management software, regardless of fleet size or budget.
The maritime industry has long been dominated by expensive, proprietary software that puts small and medium operators at a disadvantage. We're changing that.
SeaVesselManager was born from a simple belief: safety and efficiency shouldn't be privileges of the few. By making our software open source and free, we're leveling the playing field.
Our vision is a maritime industry where every vessel, from a single fishing boat to a fleet of cargo ships, operates with the same level of technological sophistication.
Free software available to operators in every country, regardless of economic conditions.
Your data is yours. Export, migrate, or modify the system as you need.
Built by maritime professionals, for maritime professionals. Your feedback shapes our roadmap.
A comprehensive, modern Planned Maintenance System designed specifically for the maritime industry.
Real-time oversight of your entire fleet with vessel positions, status, and performance metrics in one unified dashboard.
Schedule, track, and document all maintenance activities. Time-based and running hours intervals with automatic work order generation.
Track spare parts across vessels and warehouses. Low stock alerts, supplier management, and consumption history.
Never miss a certificate expiry. Track vessel and crew certificates with automated alerts and audit trails.
Complete purchasing workflow from requisitions to purchase orders with approval chains and supplier management.
Natural language queries, instant insights, and intelligent recommendations powered by AI technology.
Traditional maritime software vendors charge $15,000 - $50,000 per vessel annually for comparable functionality. This creates an unfair barrier for smaller operators.
By open-sourcing SeaVesselManager, we're giving the maritime community the tools to:
SeaVesselManager was created by Gurtej Singh Bains, a Norway-based software engineer with more than 10 years of experience in the maritime technology industry.
Throughout his career, Gurtej has worked extensively with vessel maintenance and fleet management systems, including long-term experience with TM Master V2, one of the world's leading Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS) used by shipping companies around the globe.
After years of working closely with ship operators and maritime organizations, he experienced firsthand the challenges many companies face when managing vessel maintenance with traditional PMS software. While these systems have served the industry well, they are often expensive, closed platforms built on legacy technology that can be difficult to modernize.
At the same time, maritime connectivity and infrastructure have improved dramatically in recent years. Reliable internet connectivity is now available even far out at sea, opening the door for a new generation of maritime software.
This shift inspired Gurtej to start building SeaVesselManager, a modern vessel management and maintenance platform designed with a contemporary architecture that separates frontend and backend systems, allowing it to scale and evolve with modern technology.
The goal behind the project is simple: To make a modern PMS system accessible to everyone in the maritime industry.
SeaVesselManager is developed as an open source platform, allowing ship operators, developers, and maritime professionals to use, improve, and contribute to the system. The project has been developed independently over several years, often during evenings and late nights, driven by a passion for building better tools for the maritime industry.
While the software itself is free, professional services such as support, training, and custom development are offered for organizations that require additional assistance. This sustainable approach helps ensure continued development while keeping the platform open and accessible.
